New Mini

I have ordered the New Shape Mini Cooper as our new training car. Should be with us by early March. Can't wait!!!! I have changed the colour this time. We are having a Red body Black Roof with Black Alloy Wheels. It should look really good. A new engine as well, Mini are using a 3 cylinder diesel this time with more power and better fuel economy. I can't wait I think the car will be great fun to learn in and to drive myself.

7 Out Of 7

What a fantastic end to the Year. Seven test taken and seven passes. All candidates did fantastically well. Some in our Mini and some in their own cars. You can learn with SK Driving School in your own car if you wish. Whichever is easier for you. We use all the same teaching methods and coaching to help you pass first time. The main thing is to learn in the best possible way making you a safe and confident driver for life. If you would like to know how we can help you too. Give Si a call.

Half Marathon Training

www.skdrivingschool.co.uk
My Half Marathon Training is back on track after a painfull bout of cramp. Had to have a week off. But was good to be back training again this morning. The weather was perfect as well apart from being a bit windy. My time had not dropped too much for having a week off so was pleased with that. I'm on target for Bath in March 2014. Can't wait.

3 First Time Passes In 1 Day

A great day for SK Driving School we had 3 first time passes today a fantastic drive by all those concerned and very rewarding. A further fact is that none of the passes had more than 3 driver faults recorded which was outstanding. The coaching style we are using seems to be paying off. A new approach to driver training. We will continue to innovate and we are sure the results will be positive.

Sophie's Testimony

I couldn't have passed without Si, he gave me so much confidence and he was always patient with me. He quickly works out your weaknesses and what methods work best for you and uses theses methods to help you improve and move on with your driving. Would recommend him to anybody - best instructor going! Plus the mini is amazing!! :D' Oh oh, and he doesn't just teach you to drive, he teaches you to be a driver :)

First Aid Course Attended By SK

I attended a First Aid Course today to gain a valuable qualification. Hopefully I will never need it, but it's best to be prepared. This is part of my ongoing commitment to continually train and improve as a Driving Instructor. These courses are all paid for by me. I feel all the courses I do help my self and my students in some way. Invest in good training and hopefully good results will follow.
This is me practicing CPR on Fred. Thankfully he made a full recovery!!!!

Learning Course @ SK

I have just enrolled on Diane Hall - Inclusive Learning Techniques Course.
This course covers dyslexic & dyspraxia learning techniques. Coaching and improved Q&A. It should be a very interesting and informative course. These courses I take are paid for by myself and are undertaken by me to help me to improve in my instructional techniques. This will all help to make SK something a bit different in the Driver Training Industry. I also find it interesting to challenge myself and constantly refresh the way I do my job. You can never stop learning. Hopefully these courses will benefit my students as well and get that Driving Licence they all want.

TRAINING FOR A 10k @ SK

I'm going to resume training for my run but I have had to reduce my target to Crowle 10k. It's a local event which I will be running for Accorns. It seems to be a better distance for me at the present time. It's still good just to be doing something but I'm having this weekend to relax.
I have already run Crowle in the past so I am aware of the course so at least I know what to expect!!!!!
I'll keep you all up to date as to how the training is going.

New Teaching Ap At SK

We have just started to use the latest iPad Ap for The Emergency Stop Exercise. Being interactive it enables us to help to guide the potential driver through all the aspects of having to stop a car in a emergency situation. It also helps us to demonstrate how to plan and look ahead using MSPSL ( Mirror,Signal,Position,Speed,Look )reducing the chances of any unexpected situation. We also cover controlling a skid should you loose control of the car. It's one of the many new innovations we try to incorporate into the way we help people to drive at SK.

This Week With SK

This week has been a good week for SK Driving School. We have had two new potential drivers signed up and booked in to start with us over the next couple of weeks. We have also booked in a couple of Motorway Lessons with new drivers who we helped to pass.
These are an important post pass benefit in helping newly qualified drivers learn how to read the potential hazards on our modern motorway system. We focus on planning ahead and constantly accessing our surroundings as in faster traffic these can change all to quickly.

First Aid Course For SK

I have a First Aid Course coming up in the next couple of weeks which is specially suited to Driving Instructors. It should be very interesting. Hopefully I will never need to use it.

Training

I have decided to carry on building up my distance running a little at a time and I may well get to the Half Marathon distance. I'll just see how it goes. I'm back to my regular runs on Monday having had a week off while all my test results came back. The general advice is to take it slowly and see how we get on.

Half Marathon

Bad News I'm afraid I have had to pull out of my Half Marathon because of my health. I will still be able to run Crowle 10k. I'm ok running that distance so until my health is better I will try to run a few 10k's this year and raise as much money for Accorns as I can.I am aiming to run one 10k a month through the summer. We will be setting up a giving page as soon as we can through the website. I'm still carrying on jogging with Malvern Joggers and am going tomorrow night for my second run. I enjoyed last week even tho it was hilly and I found it quite a challenge. So hopefully I will be able to improve and then I will be able to run a Half Marathon at the end of the year. I will write and let everyone know how my run tomorrow goes. SK

New Pupil

Booked a new pupil in today in Malvern. Starts at the end of February.
Could be the start of SK covering Malvern as well as Worcester, Pershore and Droitwich !!
Some great improvements have been made to our website so it now works on all mobile devices.
Another Pass last week for Beth so this year is starting very well.
I have a First Aid Course tailored towards the driver training industry booked for February. Hopefully never needed but best to be prepared.
Then it's Freshstart 2013. A series of talks given by leaders in our industry to help to improve my driver training and therefore help my students to Pass First Time.
I try and attend 3-4 training events a Year. They can cost a bit of money but hopefully help me to constantly improve my training skills.

Why not check out our improved site @ www.skdrivingschool.co.uk

Half Marathon Training

I did my 1st run with Malvern Joggers last night. It was hilly as you would expect!!! I managed 5.5miles @ 10.5 mile pace which I was very pleased with.
I think next Wednesday night I will move up a group and try the 9.5-10 min / mile group.
This week has been good for my training so far.
As long as the snow stays away I should be ok.

Half Marathon

I've decided to run my half marathon for Accorns Children's Charity.
I will put a link up later.
Training still on hold until the paths clear.

Three Passes !!

We had three passes last week in quite difficult conditions so Well done !!!
That's three more new drivers we have helped.
We were lucky to get our tests done before the snow arrived so I'm pleased to say we had no cancelations which can be very frustrating to say the least.
Thankfully all three have been replaced by new starters.
Unfortunately on hold because of the terrible weather at the moment !!
Lets hope next weeks weather is a bit kinder and we can get back to a normal diary.
This is how my Mini is looking at the moment.
Hoping its a bit warmer tomorrow.
Si

Half Marathon Training

Well the snow we have had has really slowed down my training. Have not been out for a run in over 7 Days. I just hope that it hasn't put me back too much.
I will post wen I next train and how it's going. Still too icy to run at the moment.

Crowle 10K

I've just entered Crowle 10K Run. That's the easy bit, now just to run. Plenty of time and I have a Half Marathon in March to run. So hopefully I should be ok.
