I attended a First Aid Course today to gain a valuable qualification. Hopefully I will never need it, but it's best to be prepared. This is part of my ongoing commitment to continually train and improve as a Driving Instructor. These courses are all paid for by me. I feel all the courses I do help my self and my students in some way. Invest in good training and hopefully good results will follow.
This is me practicing CPR on Fred. Thankfully he made a full recovery!!!!

Learning Course @ SK
I have just enrolled on Diane Hall - Inclusive Learning Techniques Course.
This course covers dyslexic & dyspraxia learning techniques. Coaching and improved Q&A. It should be a very interesting and informative course. These courses I take are paid for by myself and are undertaken by me to help me to improve in my instructional techniques. This will all help to make SK something a bit different in the Driver Training Industry. I also find it interesting to challenge myself and constantly refresh the way I do my job. You can never stop learning. Hopefully these courses will benefit my students as well and get that Driving Licence they all want.

TRAINING FOR A 10k @ SK
I'm going to resume training for my run but I have had to reduce my target to Crowle 10k. It's a local event which I will be running for Accorns. It seems to be a better distance for me at the present time. It's still good just to be doing something but I'm having this weekend to relax.
I have already run Crowle in the past so I am aware of the course so at least I know what to expect!!!!!
I'll keep you all up to date as to how the training is going.

New Teaching Ap At SK
We have just started to use the latest iPad Ap for The Emergency Stop Exercise. Being interactive it enables us to help to guide the potential driver through all the aspects of having to stop a car in a emergency situation. It also helps us to demonstrate how to plan and look ahead using MSPSL ( Mirror,Signal,Position,Speed,Look )reducing the chances of any unexpected situation. We also cover controlling a skid should you loose control of the car. It's one of the many new innovations we try to incorporate into the way we help people to drive at SK.

This Week With SK
This week has been a good week for SK Driving School. We have had two new potential drivers signed up and booked in to start with us over the next couple of weeks. We have also booked in a couple of Motorway Lessons with new drivers who we helped to pass.
These are an important post pass benefit in helping newly qualified drivers learn how to read the potential hazards on our modern motorway system. We focus on planning ahead and constantly accessing our surroundings as in faster traffic these can change all to quickly.

First Aid Course For SK
I have a First Aid Course coming up in the next couple of weeks which is specially suited to Driving Instructors. It should be very interesting. Hopefully I will never need to use it.
Training
I have decided to carry on building up my distance running a little at a time and I may well get to the Half Marathon distance. I'll just see how it goes. I'm back to my regular runs on Monday having had a week off while all my test results came back. The general advice is to take it slowly and see how we get on.

Half Marathon
Bad News I'm afraid I have had to pull out of my Half Marathon because of my health. I will still be able to run Crowle 10k. I'm ok running that distance so until my health is better I will try to run a few 10k's this year and raise as much money for Accorns as I can.I am aiming to run one 10k a month through the summer. We will be setting up a giving page as soon as we can through the website. I'm still carrying on jogging with Malvern Joggers and am going tomorrow night for my second run. I enjoyed last week even tho it was hilly and I found it quite a challenge. So hopefully I will be able to improve and then I will be able to run a Half Marathon at the end of the year. I will write and let everyone know how my run tomorrow goes. SK
